Although applied for over 2 years ago, the recent granting of the two exploration licences has come at an opportune time. Again the target generation focus was upon the late stage or proterozoic age granites exposed to the eastern margin of the land holding, however historical research highlighted a previously discovered roll front passing north to south through thee two tenements with potential to host uranium. Historical results from CRA within the anomalous uranium in defined roll front included 3.7m @ 0.11kg/t U3O8, 1.3m@0.58, 2m @0/.7 and 1.7m@0.29kg/t U3O8
The roll font identified by CRA during its drilling in the 1970s extends from Maynigee in the north down to the Uaroo Project area. It is seen to relate to east west paleo drainages off the range front heading towards the west coast of Western Australia.
Reconnaissance drilling completed by IGC late in 2007 has confirmed the presence of the channels, and although anomalous uranium was encountered further work is still required to confirm the historical results.
Of particular note however is a zone several kilometers to the east of the main channel zone where a radiometric high on airborne survey data is coincident with a rock chip sample taken of 0.02% Uranium. Further work is needed to identify the nature and extent of the anomalism in this area, an area largely under sandy transported cover.
